In this episode of Blue Tengu’s Game Development Show, we add the framework for the opening sequence in the game, using GameMaker timelines to dictate the action.
GameMaker timelines allow you to take over any object and dictate frame-by-frame how that object should behave. They can be done through scripting, but we use the UI for quick editing. To avoid framerate changes affecting the timeline execution, we can always convert it to script later.
Game Development Show Tasks Worked on This Episode:
- Convert Opening to Timeline
- Create Basic Opening Room
